Trisa, this is fantastic! I'm usually not one to pass up doling out "constructive criticism" when it's asked for - that's how we all improve - but I really don't have anything to suggest to improve this! Gorgeous colors, lovely composition, nice execution - great job! Maybe there's some slight lighting issues, between the shadows on the tree vs. where the light seems to come from as it hits her face, but lighting is NOT my strong suit, so I could be way off-base on that. Automatic from me!
Thanks! I had a hard time with this one because something just seemed off to me, but after 3 days of looking at it I gave up and posted it. And yea your right about the lighting on the tree, it doesn't match the rest of the picture good catch. I am going to give it a few days and see if anyone else says anything and then go back and fix it and see if it comes out better. Thanks again for taking the time to look...I appreciate all the feed back.

haha! I know what you mean... I often get so tired of working on something after awhile that I just want to post it and move on to something new. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
OMG thats AMAZING do you mind telling me how you achived taht blurry misty effect of the background? whenever i try to put images onto a background, it looks really bad like a REAL cut/paste type of image. You have really made it look good! the person "blends" into the image...how do you do it O_O yur my idol XD

Lol! Well thanks you! The it has taken a lot of time to figure out how to get the backgrounds to blend. One way I do it is I take the image and duplicate it and take the bottom layer and add a gaussian blur to it that takes some of the sharpe edges out of the object, when I got the look I want then I merge the 2 layers . Then when I have all the background elements where I want them I tweak the hue's and saturations levels so all the pieces match, sometimes it takes duplicating some layers and adding different blending modes to get the look I want. but when it looks decent, then I flatten the background pieces and use a photoshop plug in called Flaming Pair, which has an option called atherize, which gives the image a glow and a slight blur effect depending on the settings. Thats just one of the ways I do it, every picture is different and some experimenting is required to get the look I want. Hope this helps some.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
